Teacher Introduction
Hello! I am Mrs. Fogelson, and your tour guide for 8th Grade Social Studies. This is my fifth year teaching in public schools. I have taught all levels of Secondary education from 7th grade to 12th grade students. I have also taught Advanced Placement European History, 8th Grade Social Studies (which in includes Economics, Civics and Modern US History), and Family and Consumer Sciences classes, such as Cooking, Personal Management, and Fashion and Design.
I had the honor of being in the first graduating class from the University of Arizona's Interdisciplinary program of Russian and Soviet Studies. I have also completed my course of study and am a Certified Health Coach. I love Education and transforming minds with Knowledge. With my new K-12 Online Teaching Certificate, I am going to help bring the classroom in to the 21st century, so that I can teach the way students are learning today.
I look forward to being a part of your student's education and helping them to make history relevant to their lives. There is so much to learn and I hope to not only teach students about history, but to also give them skills that they will take with them for the rest of their lives.
Please know that I am available by email and usually respond within 24-36 hours. I will also hold online office hours every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm to 5:00 pm in our Moodle chat room. Feel free to join me if you have any questions that I may be able to answer.
